This may happen when another application is blocking Connectify Hotspot's driver from installing.
1: Launch the Connectify Installer. Launch the Connectify Hotspot Installer that you’ve just downloaded by double-clicking the installer’s icon or launching it directly from your browser’s download manager. Hotspot Easily Connects All Your Devices to Wi-Fi. Connectify Hotspot makes all your devices happy. This easy-to-use virtual router application lets you share Internet from your laptop with your smartphone, tablet, media player, e-reader, other laptops, and even your nearby friends. Use it anywhere in the world without restrictions. Connectify Hotspot is a virtual router, with which you may share your Wifi, ethernet, 3G, and 4G connections through your Windows PC.This software makes use of your PC’s built-in Wifi card, and through it wirelessly shares available Internet connections with other devices around you, be they desktops, laptops, tablets, or smartphones.
If you have Kaspersky, you need to either uninstall Kaspersky or disable Self-Defense in Kaspersky. Kaspersky blocks Connectify's driver install.
Please follow the steps below to install Connectify Hotspot:
Solution A - Download http://downloads2.connectify.me/DriverInstallPermissionsFix.bat to your computer, save it as DriverInstallPermissionsFix.bat to your Desktop or Downloads folder (or wherever you like). Then double-click to run the file. It may prompt you for Administrator access. After this runs, try running the Connectify installer again.

- Open the Services window by searching in your Start Menu or Start Screen for 'Services'. This may show as 'View Local Services'.
- In this window, scroll down to Device Install Service.
- Right-click on the entry and choose Properties.
- On the General tab, make sure that Startup type is not set to Disabled. If the Startup type was set to disable, try running the Connectify installer again. If the Startup type was already Manual or Automatic, you may proceed to the next solution.

Solution C - Save the Connectify installer to your desktop, and reboot into Safe Mode. Next, reboot into Safe Mode.

Run the Connectify installer in safe mode. After this completes, you may reboot into Windows normally. You may need to run the installer one more time. However, it will not need to install the driver anymore and so should complete successfully.

The remote web server hosting downloads2.connectify.me produced a redirect which was followed to a final destination and tested for viruses and submitted for spam and malware tests. These tests apply to Connectify Hotspot 2021.0.0.40131 which is the latest version last time we checked. According to our test on Nov 25, 2020, this program *is* a clean download and virus-free; it should be safe to run.
